God is FAITHFUL Even When We’re Undeserving

Hey y’all!

I just want to share with you how amazing God’s faithfulness is! When I started getting a tug at my heart that God wanted me to start a “blog” of some sort- I was scared. I was scared that I was going to become too obsessive and let it become an idol instead of using it for God’s purpose- furthering his Kingdom and quite frankly, I was scared of letting people see into my heart and life so intimately. BUT I am writing this on the same day that God answered my prayer- much quicker than I have ever experienced before, and I think that solidified the urgency to get things started.

Almost as soon as I truly surrendered to Christ, I started getting a tug at my heart that I was supposed to be doing more than bettering myself. And I argued with God. I felt underqualified (I still do) to do something like this! I was scared that people who have known me my whole life were going to use my past sins and mistakes against me. But the tug on my heart continued. The knot in my stomach got a little tighter and I felt so excited to do this.

I was in the shower and I was praying. Just asking God to reveal to me if this is truly what He wanted from me. Praying for Him to not let me do this if I was doing it for selfish reasons.

And then I kind of bargained with him. I said:

“Lord, I know I am in no place to bargain with you because you have already closed the deal with your sacrifice on the cross. But give me a name for this “blog.” I want this to be ordained by you. I want you to be calling the shots, not my own selfish desires. I will continue on the path I am on either way. I will continue to throw myself into your word Lord but PLEASE, put a name for this upon my heart and I will know. I will know that this is what you want me to be doing.”

I got out of the shower and started getting ready for work. I usually watch YouTube videos while I get ready. Jordan Dooley was at the top of my feed so I clicked on that video and started watching (I love reading her posts on all of her social media platforms and watching her on YouTube if you don’t follow her you really should!!) Anyway, this particular video was about “Finding Your Purpose.” Her message in this video spoke to me and it was a message I had heard my dad preach behind the pulpit many times. It always resonates with me but this time- it was speaking directly to my heart. Paraphrased, she and my dad said that God has already given us a purpose and a calling, and it is to further His Kingdom. So, if there was something that you were feeling led to do, then simply start it. Start it and give it over to God. Let GOD mold it into being your purpose.

Her message was spot on and I needed to hear it. Then she said a tiny little phrase. She said it so fast, I almost missed it, but when she said it my heart fluttered. I backed it up and listened again. And again. Every time my heart fluttered: “Use your gifts as pathways to purpose.” Right then, I knew God gave me a name. My “blog” would be Pathway to Purpose and I would be using it to share with people that God is the ultimate pathway to finding your purpose and getting true fulfillment out of life.

Just like God was faithful to me, I had to be faithful in return.

Later that night (lol after I got home from work), I threw myself into His word. The FIRST verse I flipped my bible open to was: Isaiah 35:8 (NIV) “And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness….”

So I’m like oh my goodness.. this is CRAZY. Highway. Pathway. Way of Holiness. He was answering me so quickly and with a smack on the forehead telling me to stop making excuses. And then I realized my bible has a note on the word “highway”, so I flipped on over to Matthew 7:13-14 (NIV) and it says: “13 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

So here is the background of discovering Pathway to Purpose! This entire experience has been so encouraging and uplifting to me so far and I hope you completely surrender your life over to Him so that you can see how truly remarkable His faithfulness and love is! BUT don’t get discouraged if your prayers aren’t answered right away. I have never had a prayer answered this quickly before. I may never get an answer this fast again!! And that’s okay because in this new, fast-food generation- God remains the same. He will answer you when HE is ready. HE has a plan for you and 9/10 it is different than what YOU have planned. Always remember Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV): “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I am so thankful the Lord has opened this door for me and I hope to encourage just ONE person!
